I understand there aren’t many better options, but whether it’s a hanger hook or basketball hoop, these things make doors fail at being doors.

Not only do you have to deal with the annoyance of a call dance, but it’s boring, repetitive, and never seems to die. It was made in the year 2000, and you still can’t go to any dancing event without being dragged onto the floor for this one. In 2005, it was certified Gold. In 2009, Crazy Frog released it on his album Everybody Dance Now. On July 1st, 2011, the Cha Cha Slide launched a new website, the official Cha Cha Slide Facebook Fan Page was launched, and a Twitter account was started.
The “Cha Cha Slide” is a song often played at dance clubs, school dances/proms, parties, ice and roller skating rinks, bar mitzvahs and weddings in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and the United Kingdom (the song reached number one in the latter country in 2004), created by Chicago’s DJ Casper (Willie Perry aka Mr. C the Slide Man).
That’s the first paragraph from its Wikipedia entry. Notice how many events it lists it being commonly played at. I bet no other article on Wikipedia has anything like that. The one-hit wonder that made this creation has even taken it upon himself to be known as “Mr. C the Slide Man.” Also, wtf is that “part 2” crap at the end of the song?
EDIT: It seems Cracked wrote about this in 2008. In the article “7 Music Trends Whose Return Must Be Stopped,” “Song-Specific Dances” ranks at number one.
Come on, Marriott, I just went to one of your hotels with free Internet! Don’t make me use the terrible connection in the lobby.
That doesn’t even make any sense!
